Dr. Trina is the sole owner of Sana Adelaide Animal Hospital. Trina grew up in Labrador City, NL and you can still hear a touch of her Newfie accent sometimes (listen for it)! After completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at McMaster University, Trina moved on to graduate school. She completed her Master of Science in Biology from Queen’s University in 2010 and went on to work at a veterinary research consulting company for a few years. Dr. Trina worked part-time as a dog trainer before going to veterinary school at the University of Calgary. She completed her DVM degree in 2017 and has worked in many veterinary hospitals since then.

Since graduation, Dr. Trina has focused her professional interests and has pursued additional certification in the human-animal bond. Dr. Trina practices evidence-based medicine and prides herself on providing care that is individualized to the client and patient.

Dr. Trina has experience working with lots of species, large and small, and has published several scientific peer-reviewed research papers (see below). She currently lives in London with her boxer (Sadie), and her hairless whippet (Kevin). Dr. Trina thrives on building long term relationships with her clients and patients and looks forward to welcoming you and your pet family to Sana!

Liz has been a registered veterinary technician (RVT) for over 25 years and brings an immense amount of knowledge and skill to Sana Adelaide Animal Hospital. Liz graduated from the RVT program at St. Clair College in 1994 and has worked in both general veterinary practices and emergency clinics in Ontario since then. She has spent many years volunteering at cat shelters, fostering cats and kittens, and is seriously unmatched in her ability to handle stressed, nervous, scared, and fractious cats. There is a reason that we call her the cat whisperer! Like Dr. Trina, Liz has also pursued additional certification in the human-animal bond prior to her tenure at Sana.

Although Liz would usually describe herself as a cat person. A few years ago she took on the challenge of a german shepherd puppy. While this decision was out of her comfort zone she ended up getting another german shepherd puppy and enjoys obedience and agility training in her spare time with both of them. Liz lives in Mount Brydges with her husband Rob, her german shepherds Thor and Bellona, and her three cats (Alice, Eddiemay, and Potato).

Mandy is a registered veterinary technician (RVT) that started at Sana Adelaide Animal Hospital in June 2024. She graduated from the Registered Veterinary Technician program at Ridgetown College in 2004. Since graduating, she has worked in numerous small animal and exotic practices. Her favourite part of being a RVT is working with exotics. She has worked with pocket pets, reptiles, cats, dogs and birds, making her a woman of many hats. She is amazing with all our patients but we are especially grateful to have her knowledge in caring for our pocket pet patients (rabbits, rats, guinea pigs etc.).

Mandy lives just outside of London in Alymer with her partner Chris, daughter Kendra, her bulldog Mavis, and 4 cats (Gilbert, Jabba Joe, Mittens, and Boots). In her free time she enjoys hiking, atving, and reading! If you see her around the clinic make sure to say hi!

Wendy has worked in customer service for many years and has grown her customer relations, computer skills, and phone etiquette more at each job. She has worked five years doing reception for various vet clinics and this has taught her the ins and outs of the business. She has learned to put clients and their pets first and how to give the best care to each person she interacts with. She feels that working at Sana Adelaide is rewarding not only on a business level but personally as well as everyday is a learning experience. She loves animals and this is shown by her welcoming smile as every pet walks through our door. This interaction with animals makes her see her job like more of a hobby then work. Her love for animals extends to her personal life as she has two cats, a border collie and a golden retriever. Wendy is the first person everyone interacts with either by phone or when visiting the clinic. With her hardworking and friendly demeanor she is the perfect fit for our clinic and constantly brightens everyone’s day.

Hope is one of our amazing receptionists! Hope started off as a client of ours with her two cats Lenny & Lily. They unfortunately became regulars of ours as Dr. Trina discovered Lily has a rare genetic disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which was detected after many painful accidents at home as a kitten. Her other cat Lenny also suffered a urinary blockage, so Hope and her cats have spent a lot of time with us. Sadly, Lily has since passed but Hope and her Husband (Max) have added a new feline family member named Olivia to their household. She is a lovely little girl adopted from the Humane Society. Hope and Olivia met at Sana Adelaide Animal Hospital and we all knew it was meant to be. Hope now works 2-3 times a week at our clinic and on her off days she is running her own aesthetics business from home (YOU by Hope). Seeing the love and dedication she has put into her own pets, we knew she would be a great addition to our team.

Maria graduated from university with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology minoring in Business and History. Since graduating she has worked in various administration and customer service jobs until becoming our office coordinator in October 2022. Maria loves animals and she uses any excuse to be around them which includes pet walking and sitting. Her passion besides pets is volleyball. She played volleyball in university and in her free time enjoys coaching others the sport. Maria and her husband (Aidan) moved to London in 2022 when her husband got into Western Law. Maria and Aidan have an Aussiedoodle named Ciri (the little black dog in the photo, the other dog is her family dog Leia) and they spend their days trying to keep up with her high energy personality.
